“Steve D’Agostino is an original – one of the very best artist/producer/engineers I’ve worked with.
A truly uncompromised and uncompromising spirit. Deep skill allied to sensibility and intelligence.
Recorded music needs more of him. Urgently.” John Foxx
Steve D’Agostino is a composer, sound designer and music producer, whose cinematic synthesizer driven soundscapes have been described as “tragically beautiful, deeply introverted and somberly weird…” His solo and collaborative works have provided filmmakers Ian Emes (Pink Foyd), Malcolm Le Grice (Berlin Horse) and Alex Proyas (iRobot) with a sonic narrative for short-films shown at the Tate Modern, Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) and internationally. His album releases with long-time collaborator John Foxx include A Secret Life with Steve Jansen, D.N.A, and Evidence of Time Travel, which premiered at the British Film Institute (UK) with a live performance featuring visuals by Karborn. It has since screened with live performances at Sonic Acts Festival, Amsterdam and Electri_City Conference in Dusseldorf.
Earlier collaborations include co-production of two ADD N To (X) analogue synth albums for Daniel Miller’s label Mute; production of songs for Thurston Moore’s album Root; remixes for Heaven 17, Depeche Mode and Soft Cell; mixing of David Sylvian’s Manofon deluxe edition album in surround sound; recording with Steve Jansen for his debut album Slope, and performing keyboards on Dalis Car’s album In Glad Aloneness.
